Early History
|
Trinity Lutheran Church was officially organized on July 1, 1883 as they met in the home of John Frischmann. The home is about a fourth of a mile east of the church and is occupied by Eldor & Marge Frischmann. Yet today, you can still ask Eldor and he will tell you and show you what room was used for the first church service.
On June 8, 1884, the voters purchased 2 acres on the southest corner of the Anton Meyer farm for $11. A log church was built on the site in 1886. For several years, the services were conducted without a Pastor since the circuit rider pastors were serving several different parishes.
In 1893, the congregation voted to build a parsonage and purchased another acre of land just west of the church for this purpose. The congregation built the "little white church" building in 1899 which served as the church until the present sanctuary was built in 1962. In 1998, Trinity congregation purchased an additional 3 acres of land on the north and west sides of the present property. In 1999, a 32' x 60' addition was added to the southwest corner providing bathrooms upstairs, expanded worship seating, expanded narthex area, new office speace, and a youth rec area downstairs.

Recent History

|
How do you have "recent" history? It sounds like a contradiction of terms! Yet events that have happened recently are history. They're just more recent than other events.
If we back up in time a few years and call that "recent history," one of our most significant accomplishments would be our construction and renovation project. In 1999-2000, Trinity added a 32' x 60' addition on to the southwest side of our present building. Actually, the new addition now sets where the old church once set. (We found the former church foundation as we excavated for the new addition!). The new addition expanded our worship seating area, created bathrooms upstairs, a spacious narthex area, and our youth rec area downstairs. Since a few years have already passed, many have nearly forgotten how things used to be. Compared to the old, the addition and renovation was an amazing transformation to say the least.
In the early part of 2006, we launched our First Impression Teams which were created to enhance the worship experience, especially the time prior to and just after the service. Door Greeters, individuals providing our morning worship greetings and announcement, and individuals preparing and serving refreshments are among those involved in our First Impression Teams.
